# Market Tiers

TempGuru groups its 345 markets into three tiers. Tier affects the rate band and
the typical [lead time](../reference/lead-time-model.md).

| Tier | Cities | Definition |
|---|---|---|
| **Hub** | 25 | Primary markets (~25 cities), NYC, LA, SF, Chicago, Boston, Miami, DC, Houston, Dallas, Atlanta, Seattle, Denver, etc. |
| **Mid** | 128 | Secondary markets (~128 cities), regional hubs, mid-size metros |
| **Small** | 192 | Tertiary markets (~192 cities), smaller metros, secondary towns |

Tier is the **planning** lens. For most roles the actual rate is set by measured
per-city data, not the tier, a tier is heterogeneous (hub Event Staff runs $30 in
Houston to $49 in New York). Only Brand Ambassadors follow a clean tier gradient.
See the [Rate Index](../rate-index.md) and [market coverage](../cities/index.md).
